Time Out says

Step into a world of circus-themed arcading adventure as this beloved venue returns to Brisbane

Whether you’ve got kids to entertain or you’re looking to rediscover your sense of childlike wonder, there’s a new spot on King Street in Bowen Hills that will certainly do the trick. Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq is making a triumphant return to Brisbane after its Toombul Shopping Centre location closed in the aftermath of the 2022 floods. Brisbanites will be able to embark on their own exciting gaming adventures from next month, with doors to the new location officially opening on Wednesday, September 6.

This neon-hued wonderland combines the enchantment of a circus with the dreamy nostalgia of an old-world arcade, promising a mesmerising experience for both youngsters and the young at heart. Try your hand at the kaleidoscopic line-up of traditional arcade games (think: Mario Kart, Connect 4 Hoops and Hungry Hungry Hippo), or get back to the future with virtual reality experiences.

If none of that strikes your fancy, maybe you’ll fancy aiming for a strike at one of the six ten-pin bowling lanes, or singing up a storm in a karaoke booth. All that all-ages fun is sure to be thirsty work, so why not continue the fun at the vibrant bar and dining area? For grownups with a well-developed sweet tooth, you can’t go past the Candy Stand – a strawberry shake with a candy frosted rim and a giant lollipop.

To coincide with the launch, Brisbane locals will also be able to enjoy an Archie Brothers ’80s-themed Street Party on Saturday, September 16. King Street will come alive with a night of dance competitions, roller skating, and DJs spinning nostalgic tunes.

The doors might not open until September 6, but we highly recommend booking online in advance to secure your spot for an outing that’s equal parts dazzling and delightful.
